2009 Global Security Survey - Dimension Data

This new global study commissioned by Dimension Data to IDC in 2009 found that while ICT spending overall is under pressure (49% of organisations are reducing their IT spend in 2009), IT Security spending itself continues, and is not being adversely impacted. Furthermore, organisations are beginning to realise the value in taking a more pro-active approach to security. Specifically, companies are shifting their focus away from point solutions to more holistic solutions, with 59% planning to invest in IT security audits, 57% in data loss prevention, and 52% in consulting. So despite ICT budgets being tightened from 2008-09, IT Security will stay a hot area for IT investment – and within the Finance and Government sectors in particular.
